On the third day

Alex is still crying when we get in the door, so things are a little hard for us.
He was excited to show everyone his Lightning McQueen shirt, but lost it when we walked in.
Still, he's the cutest little boy ever!

Dana's First Day of School

Today was Dana's first day at Kindergarten.  We had gone to open-house and have talked extensively about school, what to do, where to go, and everything we could think of.  Nothing, however, prepares the parents for sending your kid off to school.  We were so nervous for her, even though she was fine; she even seemed excited this morning.  We got her in her uniform (yes they wear uniforms at this school), and all drove her to school to see her off.
When we got there she promptly unbuckled, reached over and gave me a kiss and hug, opened the door (where Mommy was waiting), gave Mommy and hug and kiss, donned her backpack and lunch bag, and said 'bye.'  That was it.  She strutted into school like she knew what she was doing and didn't look back.

We drove off and Mommy's eyes began to water.  Onions.

Then we took Alex to his second day at Bundles of Joy and we started our day.  Dana looks so adorable in her uniform.  Mommy was attentive enough to obtain pictures this morning before we left in the chaos that is now our lives.

She has to wear an index card, or have one, because they never sent her name-tag, which all the kids have for the first week or so.

She eventually un-tucked her shirt

I will do another post after she comes home tonight, as I am writing this from work at before 9AM.

Alexs' First Day at Daycare (Repost for pics)

Since I posted yesterday about Alexs' first day on my phone, it uploaded the pictures out of the order  I wanted and not in the highest resolution.  So here they are again:

Alex was excited yesterday to go to Bundles because he met his teacher the other day.  He woke up happy.

He was very happy to use his lunch bag and wear his favorite Elmo shirt.

My little boy ready for a big day!  :)

He was still half-awake

Dana helped him carry his stuff.  He was a little reserved going in, and then he asked us to help him once inside.  I am not sure what he meant, but I do know it somewhat meant he didn't want us to leave.  Once we reminded him we had to leave him there the tears began.  We also wanted to cry because it was so sad.
Kim mentioned that he probably thinks we are never coming back, but I explained that I had been telling him all about this for days in advance. -- That, and he's not a dog.

The bright side is that when we went to pick him up, he jumped for joy and the rest of the night he told us about his day.  He was happy to tell us all the things he got to do, and all of the toys he got to play with (see the video for more).

All and all, we were so glad to have him home; he got tons of hugs and was actually super-happy the rest of the night.  As of today (the following day), however, we dropped him off this morning, and there was a new teacher.  So, of course, he began to cry again.  Hopefully today will go well for him too.  Kim and I will both think about him all day.  And Dana.  And Mommy, who started her old job again (shudder).

Painting While Mommy is at a Derby Game

We are bored, so we finished our volcano ( a vase, because paper-mache [sp?] would have been a nightmare and we couldn't find more supplies).  We bought a game today, went to Bob and Peggys', painted pictures, blew the Kjar-cano, and watched some videos....

The dude can eat an amazing amount of these

What?

As much calcium as milk. That's about all the good they can say about this product.

(yes, I'm bored)

Open House

Today was Danas open-house for school.  She starts Kindergarten on Tuesday.  She was excited but very shy.  Before we left, however, she had lightened up.
I am not sure how I feel about the school, but the teachers were pretty nice.

She was huddled up into this little ball, being shy.

After we left she seemed pretty happy about how things are set up and what will be going on.  Our lives just got 100X busier with this, Kim working, and Alex having to go to Bundles of Joy.  And Dana will be going to Bundles after school, where we will be picking her up.  Busy, busy, busy...

Carbon Copied Days....

I have to make coffee every morning downstairs in my building.  I see the same coffee packaging, coffee-maker, filter, and people every morning.  Rinse-lather-repeat.  But, when I see this package, I still to this day, think only of one thing.
For once, I just wish the makers of this 'specialty coffee' would mess up.  For once I wish it would say:
