Moved the Boat

Since we took the boat out a couple weeks ago we have had it under the Barleys' carport, exposed to the elements.  I wanted to clean it and give it a paint job before it got too cold, and buy a cover.  However, Bob and Peggy purchased a new car and wanted the carport faster than I would be able to get a coat of new paint on.
So, this morning I decided to hitch up the truck, kids, and head over there to get it moved.

The kids were happy to be able to help.

Unfortunately, the layout of the yard prohibited easy movement of the trailer, which was destined towards the side of the house for the season.
So I had to disassemble the fence and go in from the road..

I got it moved pretty easily as I have become fairly proficient in guiding a trailer backwards since I have been in possession of the boat.
One finished, assisted by two small helpers, I put the fence back together.

I also had to guide it around little spigots protruding a couple feet from the earth in various locations in the yard, a task increasingly difficult as I neared the final position.  But I proved that it could be done -- in one shot too!

Also, when we were finished I raked the carport nearly clean of debris aggregated by the wind and trailer tires...
..well, for the most part, anyhow

Overall it was a success and when they return home from church I hope they will be happy to have ownership returned to them of the carport!  Now I just need to buy a boat cover. Are they expensive?

Dana can ride by herself now; she just needs help getting started
