My niece called for a Google Hangout...

They were playing with the Hangout features, and kept adding rage faces.  The above is a screencap from my phone.

Ice Skating

Its hard finding things to do in this town, especially in the winter!  The eastern shore - the peninsula -  is not exactly filled with places to go for fun, and yet we have just about done them all, a million times.  This morning we researched what exactly we can do in Maryland for fun, without spending every dime we have.
I would love to take the kids to the Baltimore aquarium, but its pretty expensive.  We also thought about going to one of the Smithsonian museums that we haven't done yet, but we didn't want to drive all the way over to DC, then turn around and go all the way home, unless we had planned it and woke up earlier.
Kim happened upon a skating rink in Ocean City on the Internet.  Their website even has a web-cam showing how busy it is at any given time.
So, we donned our warmest garb, save snow pants, and started for Ocean City.  Apprehension of Alex aside, we paid the small fee for ice time and had a blast.

We skated for a few hours, got some cotton-candy, and then went out on the beach since it wasn't that cold and the wind was tame.  The kids and I got pretty dirty in the filthy sand, so we headed home.

It was really foggy

It wasn't too cold, but cold enough to require a forgotten jacket

On the way out of OC the sun was setting and it looked amazing.  The remaining dusk reflected from the water, and coupled with the fog and local brush, produced a bouquet of deep color, smeared across the dimming winter sky.
We pulled over on a side road to capture the display.  It was fading fast, so Kim raced down a nearby dock with my phone in hand in an attempt to catch yet a small glimpse of a dissolving January dusk, reflecting from the still ocean water.

On the way home, we concluded a day-long story about a price named 'Alexander,' and a princess named "Dania.'  Upon ending with a triumph from the prince over a dragon, we learned that Alex had fallen asleep.
It was a really nice day.  Dana even mentioned that she would prefer her birthday to be held at the rink!
